For me this is literally true. Yesterday I was still focused on maintaining the 9-5 workday as I had done for the last 22 years. But today I decided that it no longer applies.
Apart from the weird sense of anxiety, guilt and freedom, my day was strangely productive.
Every time a task, meeting or idea crossed my path I didn’t consider how it fits into my day. I considered whether it was important enough to spend time on at all.
The surprising thing was that many items would’ve been added to my TO DO list until I had time to do them. But today, many didn’t even make it past gate 1.
The result? I have time available. Time to really delve deep into what I’m doing. Time to seek that elusive gem, flow.
